Anime TV Online - Amaenaideyo Review

^Amaenaideyo (Ah my Buddha!) is an 2005 ecchi anime, directed by Kotago Motonaga under the wings of Studio Deen and AT-X. It's based on the famous mature manga Amaenayedo by Sogabe Toshinori! In 2006 AT-X released Amaenaideyo Katsu!, the second season of this anime, which I will also review below.

If I had to describe Amaenaideyo in two words it would be: fan service!

It's quite incredible the amount of fan service that is shown in this anime series! From the intro you can get the picture (no puns intended ^_^'). And i'm not talking only about cleavage and panty shots. In Amaenaideyo it's going all the way.The fact that the girls are monks and use those easy-to-strip outfits makes for lots of sexy scenes. You are also gonna have much bouncing in this anime... Bbboouunnccciinngg! And groping... And sexy screams...

You get the picture! ^_^'

So, apart from that, what is Amaenaideyo! about?

Yes it has a story, but it's a rater loose one.

Ikko Satonaka is the main character and as typical in this kind of anime he's the center of slapstick comedy. He's not very bright, and is easily misunderstood. Oh, he's a monk apprentice (!), although he was kind of forced into it. He hates doing his daily temple chores and is often quite abused and pushed around by the other girls (including his grandmother and matron of the temple, Jotuku.

He also has a very powerful power that is 'awakened' when lust overcomes him. Not very hard to happen with all the beautiful girls around him!

Those beauty's are:

• Chitose- the red haired chick with a crush on Ikko, but that denies it constantly. She's the most aggressive towards him. She's very cute, was raised in the middle of nowhere and so her interests are not very vast (but she excels in the movie department ^_^');
• Yuuko- This girl looks like a boy. Blue Haired, chest almost flat, likes to pick fights all the time. She's very energetic and is always very jealous of all the other girls generous atributes!
• Haruka- A blond that is very good-humored and laid back. This one doesn't care about much and likes to flirt with cute boys like Ikko! She has the biggest cup size!
• Sumi- Brown Hair, thick eyebrows, a kind and cute tanned girl that loves animals and seems to have a special connection with them ;)
• Hinata- The Lolita of the group, Hinata is a cutie with purple air. She isn't very talkative and has some weird look at times, but she has a kind heart inside. Best know for her short remarks and her cute demon pet.
• Sakura- Hinata older sister, this one will eat anything without never being satisfied! She has a strong sadistic side (especially online!) and likes to be the leader of the communities she's involved with!

Amaenaideyo is an easy-going series. Don't expect a detailed story. Actually almost all of the episodes of the first season are stand-alone ones, mainly designed to let you know a little of all the characters involved. This anime is for entertainment only. But it provides good one, if seeing anime babes is your cup of tea ^_^'

The animation and sound are ok. Not spectacular, but they deliver. There are some effects that really make me smile. The "OH YEAH!" expression when some fan service is delivered is fabulous!

Well, contrary to the usual in animes, the second season is actually better than the first!

Amaenaideyo Katsu! provides you (at last) with some kind of plot. And LOTS of fan service, of course (figures ^_^').

A new character is introduced: Kazuki Kasunago is gonna be the main antagonist of this season and she's a cute blond buddhist monk, that actually has a crush with Ikko! And she's not afraid to speak it out loud or show it in actions for that matter! Of course she can also have some ulterior motives concerning Ikko's power (evil grin!).

Her appearence makes the story interesting as she represents both a influence to pull Ikko's to the "dark" side and one of the tips of a newly developed love triangle - between her, Ikko and Chitose. Oh, and did I mentioned more fan service?...

I enjoyed this season quite a lot and was actually craving for a third season. Sadly, it wasn't released yet. So I guess I'll keep waiting!
