Love Hina Anime Review

^{Love Hina} is a 24 episode anime, that aired on year 2000 and was produced by Xebec, a division of Prodution I.G. Based on Love Hina manga, this anime success relies on the tried-and-true formula of showing what happens when a boy ends up in a house with a bunch of beautiful girls!

This typical shonen comedy was a mega hit in and out of Japan, selling million of copies and harvesting a couple of nifty awards.

The plot of Love Hina is quite interesting. Keitaro Urashima is the lucky(?) guy that ends up in the Hinata Apartments, a girls-dorm, where he eventually becomes the manager, in order to help him with expenses while he finishes his studies to the entrance exams to Tokyo University.

And he'll need that help badly, because he sucks at school! Already failed twice, and that pains him greatly, because Keitaro lives haunted by the promisse he made to an unknown girl (well, not literally unknown, he just forgot her name ^_^'), when he was just a boy... that they would enter Tokyo University together and live happily ever after!

But Keitaro is not such a bad guy, despite being considered a pervert and often badly beaten by the girls. He just somehow clumsily manages to get himself involved in huge messes (and quite comical too) where he normally doesn't look good in the picture. Despite that, he manages to win over the girls due to his good and helpful nature and the strength to never give up even in the worst conditions.

Enter the Hinata Apartments residents. Each girl is quite unique, although all share a common trait: they're hot anime babes! Can one of them be Keitaro's mystery girl? That's for me to know, and for you to find out!

Naru Narusegawa

Perhaps Love Hina fan favorite, Naru is 17 year old beautiful long aired girl! She's very devoted to her studies and sacrificed a lot of her social life to try to egt in Tokyo U. Naru is a responsible, reliable, kind and caring person.

To everyone, except Keitaro that is! When she's around him, you get to see the other side of her. The agressive and violent side! Keitaro really messes with her (hot) temper and you see her punch and kick Keitaro constantly, normally in the process of some kind of dubious situation, if you catch my drift ^_^'

Her interactions with Keitaro provide one of the most recurent gags of the anime!

You'll see her building a love-hate relationship with Keitaro, but having extreme difficulty in dealing with all her emotions concerning him. This is central to the show and the way it's portraid is an important ingredient to it's sucess...

Shinobu Maeara

Shinobu is a 13 year old schoolgirl, that takes residence in Hinata Inn due to problems at home with her parents. She's a quiet and shy girl, very emotional and always caring for others, sometimes too much. She oftens shed tears, especially when Keitaro is involved, since she has a big crush on him. She's a great cook!

Motoko Aoyama

A very serious 15 years girl, Motoko is quite atlethic and a master of kendo. She has great troubles in dealing with other people, specially mens, who she dislikes greatly. You can see how Keitaro is gonna suffer with her ;) Her greatest fear is turtles!

Kaolla Su

She's a 14 year old foreing transfer student. She comes from the ficticious Molmol, but all of her spells exotic and hot indian chick! She's a complete lunatic, wears strange customs, and will produce the most bizarre gadgests you will ever see. Topping all that, Kaolla is also completely hyperactive and loves to hug and touch people. She also has a secret...

Mitsune Konno

A.k.a Kitsune, she's a 19-year old writer (but is never seen doing that, eheh), who loves to get drunk and create trouble around her, to "keep things interesting". With her foxy face, big bust and unconvencional manners, she's always teasing Keitaro, much to the audience contempt!
