Serial Experiments Lain Review
Serial Experiments Lain is a 1998's anime directed by Ryutaro Nakamura and edited by Triangle Staff.
It has won several awards since its release including the Excellence Prize in 98 of the Japan Media Arts Festival. Why?
Well, in my opinion it''s one of the best animes ever created. It has a very high artistic value, combining top-notch animation (for its time, remember it's 1998 back then), a good soundtrack that provides a great ambience to the anime and a very interesting story, that really pulls the viewer in...
So, whats the story then? Well, it has been hard to describe... What I can say for sure it's that it goes around Lain Iwakura, an aparently normal young girl, that starts to discover strange nuances in the world she lives in, after a classmate of hers commit suicide...
But is the world that's wrong, or Lain itself is not what she seems? Because things start to become really strange after she connects to the Wired (the anime's Internet)...
All in all, it's a brilliant thirteen episodes serie, where boundaries are constatntly being questioned... Between reality and the wired, biology and information, the physical and the psychological, order and decadence, man and god... Are these concepts all linked together? Can Lain be in two worlds (or more...) at once... Where does the future brings us?
Serial Experiments Lain is a work of art. It's like an abstract painting that you have to look several times from different angles and think about what your seeing and what it means to you. It's never the same to two peoples, but it's always beautiful.

I think this new computer lain ask her dad for is taking up a lot of her time. While putting it together she gets caught up in this game Phantom a way to connect would. This new computer becomes the most important thing and noting ease really matters to her. Lain problem doesn’t even notice any changes about her. She finally found something that makes her feel good about herself that’s all that matter. That’s the same thing with kids today. I gust to lain it feel like it feel when someone smoke pot or smelling your underwear for the first time. Lain really doesn’t care if the game is illegal and that the game might not be working properly; it’s like a drug to her. The decision one makes and choices could affect one’s life forever. When someone’s start to be disrespectful to their parents because of the things they decide to do and people they hang out with or for whatever reason should be reprimand for being disrespectful. Lain is so into this game she thinks it’s actually real life. She is already hooked like you get hook on drugs she is always day dreaming. Lain spent all of her time in her room working on how to fix her computer when she not at school. She’s not thinking about anyone but herself and fixing her computer. The girl is hook on this deception. You know when you’re doing drug they make you feel like everything is great and you’re the boom digit boom. I think that what’s going on in little lain head with this game. We as parent sometime don’t open up our mouth when it come to our kids, face it; we let them get away with just about anything. Look at lain father he knows what’s going on with lain but he is just peeking in the door, instead telling her to get her butt off that computer. At this point I think lain my needs some help because she never been popular or had girl any real friends she was really depress and lonely until she found the phantom, the is music is calling her and she is falling right into game let’s get connected lain. She is delusion at this point she is total connected to this game lain has all the power now.

I know that I’m not a Prophecy, because one that prophecies can predict beforehand, but sometime being around certain people for a while I can just tell what’s going to happen and know what they’re going to do the next day. I know god has blessed me in life, and I feel he is a part of my body, without him I would not be here today. I’ve had people in my life that told me good thing were going to happen to me but I’m still waiting. Prophecy can tell what going to happen in future. Yes what the god is saying to her is true. Lain is walking around with her head stuck up her ass, when what she need to is go to church. God is telling lain to take his hand and let him lead her on to greater thing. Lain father is telling her who ever built this wired into the internet is trying to trick her by saying that their god, so she would be hook on something that god has nothing to with. We all make mistakes at least once in our life. This is god world and he made man in his emery not on a computer. I know sometimes we get caught up into other thing that does not make since. Lain father is trying to explain to her that what is happen with her has nothing to do with god, and it maybe because the entire electric device in her room is not working correctly. I think she needs to come out of that room because she is being affected by the electricity from all wirers, that’s why she having these hallucination I think lain is having one of her prophesy about Mika. Mika think lain is wired any way. I don’t think she really cares or knows about lain situation. Mika still is doing what she do every day, and Lain is total connect to the wirers in her room that’s why the girl is having hallucination.

Lain attitude definitely has change, she’s more extroverts when she is in the wired; but when lain is around her friends in the real world she is introverts in other word she don’t speak up for herself. When lain is in the wired she wants to know about everything that’s going on in the wired. That’s why she spends most of her time in her room playing wired. Lain father is hoping that she’s ok and that she does not get caught up in this game and forget about the real world. I know if that was my mom checking on me about something she did not approve of me doing, she would do the same thing, well maybe a little different because my mom problem come in the room in pull all that stuff out of the wall and tell me to get all that water up off the floor and go to bed, some like that. Lain wants to know more about the wired in what happen in the pass, so she can keep up with all the information, so she had to go deep to research more information to be able to be in control of the wired. When lain is in the wired she is sure of what she wants, and that’s to be in control of the wired, let’s face it she taking charge of the wired standing up for herself. If you notice she is not like this with her friends in the real world she always acting all insecure when she is around her stuck up friends. Now that lain has found the wired that’s a place where she feels better about herself in she can be who ever she wants to be especially when she have these hallucination she feels free and that everyone around her worship the ground she walks. I do believe lain has taken over the wired that’s why she wants to know more about the wired and all the different net so she can be in control of the wired.

Growing up in today’s society we have to make choices, sometimes the choices we make are not always the right choices. We all have different things we experiment with, take lain for instance she is so caught up in her computer game, that she believe that this game on the internet call wired is the real world we live in, and that real world know longer exist. Lain is letting this game take control of her mind kind of like drugs if you do enough drugs the drugs will take control of your mind consume you and everything in your life. When I was growing up my family was really close to each other, if one of us was having a problem you can believe everyone in the family new about it, we did almost everything together it doesn’t seem like to me that lain and her family are very close, lain does even spend time with her sister. When Mika come in the room to talk to her sister lain practically neglect her sister. I believe Mika might have a little problem and she wants to talk to lain about her problem, but lain is too busy trying to be in control of the wired she even ignores the warning on her computer knowing that this game is illegal server she still continue to stay connect to the wired. Several people are using the wired and they all want to be in control of this game call the knights. This one man who plays the wired wants to be a part of the knights carriers a computer around on his back, walking the street trying to connect to the wired, but he doesn’t have enough power to stay connect to the wired, I think his batter died, basically everyone playing the wired is trying to be in control in find out who is in control of the knight’s. I think Lain is running the knights because she smart good with computer and she young, even though she confuse about the wired being the real world she still manage in the real world and I think Arius really is concern what happen to Lain.
